We are all stories. Let’s explore yours.

Person-centred counselling shaped by science and creativity to support meaningful, lasting change

Who I Work With

Overwhelmed by the Noise (Anxiety, Stress & Burnout)

  • Who this is for: You feel constantly wired, exhausted, or on edge – generalised anxiety, workplace stress, or a persistent sense that you're never doing enough. From the outside you might look like you have it together; inside, your mind is racing and you feel disconnected from yourself.

  • How it feels: Like your system is stuck on high alert – thoughts that won't quiet, sleep that won't come easily, no room to breathe amid daily demands.

  • How we work together: I'm not here to hand you a quick fix or play outside expert. I combine a person-centred approach with an understanding of the mind to help you safely identify what's driving the anxiety – and find your own way back to balance.

Stuck in a Heavy Place (Depression, Feeling Sad & Loss)

  • Who this is for: You might be navigating a major life transition, bereavement, separation, or a deep, lingering sadness and loneliness. Sometimes there's no single trigger – just a heavy cloud, or a sense that life has lost its colour, meaning, or direction.

  • How it feels: Like watching life happen from behind a glass screen, carrying a weight – trauma or past hurts – that feels too hard to speak aloud.

  • How we work together: I offer a judgment-free space where you don't have to hide your sadness. If words are hard to find, we can gently use creative, narrative-driven approaches to make sense of your experience – walking alongside you as you unpack this chapter at your own pace.

Navigating Identity & Belonging (Neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ & Self-Confidence)

  • Who this is for: You're trying to find your footing in a world that wasn't built for your specific way of being – perhaps exploring a late-mapped diagnosis like ADHD or autism, navigating your LGBTQ+ identity, or struggling with a profound lack of self-confidence and belonging.

  • How it feels: Like you're constantly masking, adapting, translating yourself for others – leaving you misunderstood, isolated, alienated from who you really are.

  • How we work together: Grounded in the belief that you're the expert on your own life, my role is to offer an authentic, accepting relationship. The work is entirely client-led – through conversation or creative mediums – helping you dismantle outside expectations and build trust in your own voice.

Alongside you, every step

My name is Barry (he/him), and I believe your story deserves to be heard exactly as it is – without filters, judgement, or expectations.

As a person-centred counsellor, I spend my life exploring how human beings think, feel, and share their worlds. I don't offer rigid, clinical checkboxes. Instead, I offer my clients a calm, down-to-earth space where you don’t have to perform, mask, or have anything worked out. Just a real human connection, focused entirely on helping you navigate what's going on for you.

“Barry’s online therapy sessions were so important for me at a deeply unhappy time. He created a very calming space to let me articulate the issues I was facing and listened intently before offering his take, without ever telling me what to do. Pretty much always he was spot on in his summaries while he helped me gradually regain control of my turbulent mind and navigate to calmer waters. I would thoroughly recommend speaking to him to see if his person-centred approach would suit you as it did me.”

“Your support has made a lasting difference in my life. You have helped me find a sense of peace that I never thought possible.”
